Clock

Second year university project titled ‘gift’, The brief was to create a gift that could fit into 50cm³ space.

A clock was the result of my design ideas, I wanted to simplify this piece down to as few components as possible whilst displaying the information in as clear a fashion.

I drew inspiration from airplane instrument panels and based the design around a single seat aircraft, giving the clock a tapered trapezium look. The body is made up from a single aluminium casting, giving the clock seamless edges and solid machined faces.
